Behavior Management through Rhythm and Ritual
Eliminate behavior problems before they begin!
The key to a safe, enriching learning environment is structures and routines. Young people do best when they have a sense of containment about their spaces – where things go, what is expected of them, rules, consequences, processes and procedures. Basically, they need consistency. This workshop offers hands-on strategies for teachers to put in place that empower youth to sustain a highly structured environment for themselves to feel safe and to be creative within.
In this learning experience you will:
- Consider various learning styles and their connection to children's behavior
- Access the expressive arts (music, stories, creative movement) as ways to build a safe, positive and peaceful environment in your classroom
- Practice giving clear and simple directions in dynamic and engaging ways so that students feel supported, rather than confused
