Structures that Foster Equity, Independence, and Maximize Creativity
Youth development theory requires strong leadership and a concrete vision to be sustainable. This vision must be translated into clear structures and process agreements in order to be practiced by an entire staff. This training explores structures that foster equity for all program staff and program youth. We will create transparent behavior management systems and learn strategies to enforce them. We will explore the delicate art of boundary-setting connected to the youth developmental process, and principles of group development. Participants will practice a communication model that is clear and directive – that allows youth to focus their creativity where it matters most.
