Skill Building
Programs need to intensify and deepen over the course of the year to match the developmental process of youth. This means that programs must be designed to challenge young people to take on increasingly difficult tasks. The tools of intentional de-brief and reflection must be utilized to make learning apparent – but in sophisticated ways that keep young people engaged and interested. In this training we will learn how program structures can be used to set clear boundaries and maintain high expectations of youth. Learn the 3 most common program design mistakes programs make, and 6 strategies to avoid them. Participants will be supported to design a year-long curriculum that is developmentally responsive.
