Jennifer Fornal, Director for Special ProjectsJoshua Julian brings 13 years of experience working in the field of afterschool and youth development.  Working with a wide variety of afterschool organizations and foundations, Joshua’s experience includes strategic planning, website and database design and construction, technical assistance and program analysis.

Prior to his work with Temescal Associates, Joshua worked in New York City for the Partnership for After School Education (PASE), planning and managing a national campaign to help identify, evaluate, and promote best-practice outcomes for afterschool programs nation-wide.

He trained over 1200 youth workers from over 560 program sites, partnering with the Department of Youth and Community Development to help programs better design, implement, and report on quality afterschool programs for the New York City-funded Out of School Time (OST) Initiative.  Working with legislative leaders and policy makers, Joshua helped to develop, collect, and use this and other data to advocate for policy change and program support.

Joshua spent his early years in afterschool working directly with youth running literacy programs in East New York, Harlem, and the Bronx.
